Distance
CMC’s distance model is designed for students who would prefer the flexibility of a course delivered by distance – where there are no set classes to attend, students can fit the study in when and where it suits them and they have a longer time to complete the course. This option is great for students who have a job in a different industry from what they’re studying or for rural & remote students.
Readings and course materials are posted to the student at home; students complete tasks and mail them back for marking. A CMC trainer will provide phone support and training throughout the course and online assistance and a resource centre is provided to all students.
Students will be required to undertake a set amount of practical work placement hours during their course - this work could be paid or voluntary and can be spread out over the course. This requirement ensures students can take their skills and learning and apply it in a practical situation straight away, while also allowing workplace learning to occur. A supervisor at the placement will be asked to mentor the student and provide third party evidence and confirmation of the student’s skills.
