Workplace Based Courses
Delivered as traineeships/apprenticeships (if available) or self funded courses
Students of our workplace based courses will receive training, support and assessment in their workplace. Our trainers will visit students regularly at work to deliver one-to-one student-focused training. Students also have the option of attending some classes and workshops (available weekdays or weekends) if they wish.
In order to enroll in a workplace based course, students need to have a current job within the industry they are being trained in, or have access to a centre for on the job experience (field placement). Enrolments are taken all year round – we’ll visit the service when you’re ready to start.
Workplace based courses are self paced so students can progress through the course according to their needs.
All students will be assigned one of our assessors who will provide support and training for the duration of the student’s course. The assessor will visit the service and contact the student and supervisor regularly to monitor progress.
Each student also needs to be allocated a supervisor from within their organisation. The supervisor will support the student whilst in the workplace by mentoring and coaching them through learning and completing tasks.
Classes and workshops are delivered at various times throughout the year, including Saturdays. Sessions are timetabled one year in advance so students can plan their studies ahead of time. Students choose and book into the sessions they would like to attend for the areas where they feel further learning is required.
