Eligibility

As a general rule, trainees and apprentices need to be employed on a permanent basis (either part time or full time) for at least 15 hours per week*.  Casual employees cannot become trainees/apprentices.

User Choice Traineeships (New Workers)

User choice traineeships and apprenticeships are funded by each state government’s education department.  Funds are paid directly to CMC for providing the training.  Students will be charged a student fee which is either set or guided by the state government department.  Often employers of user choice trainees/apprentices may also be eligible for Commonwealth incentives.

In Victoria & Queensland, user choice funding is usually available for employees who have been working with you for less than 3 months (FT) or 12 months (PT).

In South Australia, user choice funding is available to trainees who have been working for less than 3 months, whether full-time or part-time.  This may differ where the employee has been selected or nominated to participate in other up-skilling programs and initiatives.

User choice funded places are often limited and can only be offered if places are available.  Currently CMC have places available – contact us to sign up.
