STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

CMC Training at Work value:

All students and staff of CMC Training at Work have the right to work and study in an environment that is free from harassment, discrimination and threatening behavior. Staff and students have a responsibility to respect the rights of others and respect diversity.

Students also have the right to:

  • Expect a safe and professional training environment where staff and students treat each other with mutual respect.
  • Expect an environment which is free from discrimination and harassment.
  • Receive accurate and timely information from CMC regarding policies, information updates and course information
  • Receive training and assessment from staff who are appropriately qualified in their field of study and in the areas of training and assessment.
  • Access student policies and procedures
  • Expect that their records are kept private and confidential.
  • Be provided with clear guidelines about the requirements of assessments.
  • Have access to student and training support.
  • Be assessed in a manner that is fair, consistent, reliable and valid.
  • Appeal against an assessment outcome.
  • Fair and efficient resolution of complaints, appeals and grievances.

Students are expected to:

  • Show respect for the rights of all students and staff of CMC Training at Work.
  • Treat all property of CMC Training at Work and that of other students with respect.
  • Attend and take part in all booked training and assessment visits as well as pre-booked workshops and classes.
  • Make regular contact with their trainer/assessor and respond appropriately to any contact made to them by CMC Training at Work.
  • Only submit work which is their own and has not been plagiarized.
  • Ensure that CMC Training at Work has their current contact details.
  • Seek advice from relevant staff when they require support with regard to training, assessment or administration.
  • Progress steadily through the course in accordance with the training and assessment/ course plan.
  • Prepare appropriately for workplace visits including having manuals and copies of work available for the trainer.
  • Regularly update the training log.
  • Notify their workplace supervisor when a trainer/assessor is due on-site for training and assessment.
  • Keep a copy of all tasks and assessments submitted.
  • Abide by fee and payment schedules set and agreed to for their course.
  • Be punctual with respect to classes, workshops and visits.
  • Become familiar with and act in accordance with CMC Training at Work’s policies and guidelines.

While on campus of CMC Training at Work, students are also required to abide by the following rules.

  • Mobile phones and audio devices such as CD and MP3 players must be switched off during workshops and classes
  • Alcohol, smoking and drugs are not permitted within college buildings. Students affected by drugs or alcohol are not permitted on CMC Training at Work campuses.
  • Students must wear neat and casual attire. Closed toe shoes must be worn at all times.
  • The use of obscenities is prohibited.
  • Students are responsible for their own personal belongings.
